Light and transparency

Living in Cévennes, Marie LANDREAU was born in the “Pays de Loire” region in 1958. Watercolorist for years, she now dedicates herself completely to her passion: oil painting work with brigtness and transparency. Since 2005, she participated in various exhibitions and places from north to south of France.

“To make her coulours sing, Marie LANDREAU harmonizes with a sunshine palette of golden yellow, saffron, orange-tree, fushia, reds and deep blues. The fact that she exults in painting is transparent!

Informal fugitif backgrounds develop the remarkable atmospheres that surround the subjects with an intense aura. This artist doesn't paint flowers or characters: she transmits feeling, reveals vibrations, offers light and eternity to her subjects.”Thierry SZNYTKA, art critic

For Marie LANDREAU, the painting subjects are simply excuses to share energy, emotion, magical moments of life. In her paintings, the subject matler in put together trough a series of transparent layers (glaz) because she loves to have the light diffusing from the bottom of the painting as if it glows out from things or beings....

She delights in the fact that the eye may look deeply into the painting, as deep as it wants, through the layers of colour and matler. She would like the slow colaboration of the paintings to allow their perception to vary in relation to what is deep down in each of us – so our perception of our affectation nevers ceases to renew itself.
