Daniel BERGAGNA is a self taught autodidact painter. He was born in La Rochelle, Charente Maritime but he has been living and working in the island of Oléron on the Atlantic west coast.

His paintings surf between reality and fiction, on the edge of virtual imaginary worlds. Moving things from their usual environment, each element is treated on a realistic scale and yet, once they are blended all together in an artwork, the end result is a sort of fictional image. Inspired by mentors like Andre Breton or Magritte, Bergagna’s surrealism goes beyond imagination and reveals an infinitely exquisite artwork where the line of the horizon is his only frontier, the sky its limits. A dream into borderless reality with an open door.

Be prepared to see a boat balancing and sailing on a balcony, while the ocean rolls its waves on a key-board, etc…Bergagna’s main subjects of inspiration are: music, boats, carts, masks, butterflies A. Rimbaud, and more

Bergagna’s artwork has been exhibited in several galleries, Art Center in France and abroad and is going in private collections.
